PC based network access control system

S-600

Overview

The S-600 system is designed as a modular structure: after purchasing its basic package it´s possible, when necessary, to expand the system along with scaling up the supervised area and scope of its tasks and functions.

The S-600 system is constructed as a network of controllers connected to a dedicated computer. The controllers manage the operating devices — locks and turnstiles. The maximal number of controllers in the system is 64.

The S-600 system supports HID or EM-Marin proximity cards used as electronic passes. The maximal number of cards is 64,000.

One of the key advantages of the PERCo lock controllers is that electronics of both the proximity card reader and the controller are put in one case. Such a design allows to reduce the system overall costs and makes installation and maintenance of the controllers easier. In some cases a version with the detachable aerial can be used for mounting on the external door for more vandal resistance of the system.

A new model of the lock controller with an intercom unit combines the functionality of an access controller and a video door phone. Its vandal resistant metal case comes with a proximity card reader, a controller, and a video intercom unit, all in one. It´s convenient in use, and at the same time allows to reduce the costs when equipping the office entrance. Each lock controller operates one lock, stores up to 1,000 cards and up to 3,500 off-line events.

The turnstile controllers operate different types of turnstiles (tripods and rotors) and swing gates.

Each turnstile controller operates one turnstile, stores up to 2,000 cards and up to 2,000 off-line events. Using an extra flash memory expansion chipset M-600, it is possible to increase the number of off-line events stored up to 6,000.

The turnstile controllers support both card readers with Wiegand 26b interface for different card types and much less expensive detachable aerials.

The system network software enables the administration to arrange as many automated operator?s terminals as necessary (personnel department, badge office, system administrator, checkpoint, payroll department).

The system does not require permanent PC connection, as access granted/denied decisions are made by its controllers themselves. They independently store the relevant data and upload it into the host PC when connected.

Tasks solved & capabilities

The S-600 system features effective solutions for the following tasks:

Prevention of unauthorized access

Employees and visitors can be assigned individual access rights to certain areas. Access can be restricted:

  • By time of day or day of week (8 time zones)
  • By access level, i.e. each employee can be assigned the rights to access certain areas, to set on/off the Guard mode (3 access levels)

Time & Attendance

The system registers all occurred events, and based on the recorded data allows to generate different types of reports: entry/exit time of each employee, coming late, ahead leaving, working time, etc. Its bundled software allows users to set up any reports with multiple selection criteria: by violation type, by date, by individual employee, by divisions, etc.

Protection of assets & information

The system identifies access rights of each employee by allowing access only to those areas where and when the employee is permitted to stay in, based on job duties and authorized office hours only.

The special system internal Guard mode ensures additional security during office hours. In the event of emergencies the system will trigger the alarm signal. The system memory stores all the recorded events and may be a valuable source of information in case of various investigations at work.

Remote control of office doors

This function affords more comfortable working conditions for managers. The manager can control an office door with a compact size remote control panel — keep it closed during conferences or while working with confidential documents. The following operating modes are available: «Open», «Closed», «Access by card». If necessary, the office door can be equipped with the lock controller with video intercom unit.

Automated personnel database management and badge creation

The system software facilitates routine administration tasks on the personnel database, allowing to store individual employee data (photo, name, job title, division/department, badge ID number, access level).

The ID Badge printing module allows to issue access cards in the form of ID badges with an individual?s imprinted photo, name, job title, department, and corporate logo.

System software

The system software package is intended for operating the system controllers, collection and processing of data inputs, and generation of necessary reports.

This network software runs under MS Windows 98/ME/NT/2000 and features an up-to-date and user-friendly interface. The software administration functions are password protected.

The system connection to local PC networks allows to set up as many automated operator´s terminals as necessary for different divisions and job tasks.

The software allows to establish access control to the company premises identifying all entrants by proximity access keys and recording the time of passages.

The system software supports the following functions:

  • controllers´ operation and data collection;
  • the system auto-configuration;
  • personnel database management (automated personnel accounting, setup of personal data cards);
  • access control by time (setting up an individual access schedule per a definite premise);
  • local anti-passback (for the turnstile controllers only: tracking the passage directions and blocking the double entry/exit in the same direction to protect against the access key transference to other persons);
  • generation of reports on employee?s working time, violations (coming late, ahead leaving, absences) by a single employee or divisions;
  • issuing of ID badges (template design, automated setup and printing of ID badges, manual or automatic enrollment of access keys via master reader);
  • assignment of different access rights and levels to the system software users and setup of passwords;
  • test and control of hardware;
  • administration of databases and control over their integrity.

Optional software modules supplied on request:

Database Import module facilitates input of employees´ personal data. Earlier created electronically formatted personal database within minutes can be imported into the system software.

Time & Attendance module allows full automation of the company´s time &attendance procedures. The software interface capabilities enable to generate illustrative charts showing employee´s attendance mapped on work schedule.
